Yes. We consider our outdoor time as important to our program as inside time. The amount of time spent outdoors will vary and certainly increase with pleasant temperatures. The secret to enjoying outdoor time in all weather is clothing! We always make sure children are appropriately dressed to ensure an optimal experience in the outdoor classroom. During the rainy days, we provide full rain suits for the children to wear, and during the colder months, we educate and guide families in picking the best waterproof, and warm clothing. In the event of thunder, lightening or unforeseen dangerous weather, there will be no outdoor time that day and families will be notified.

YES!! Our goal at ITAV is to meet every child at their current needs and facilitate growth academically, physically, emotionally, and socially. We believe whole child growth will foster a strong foundation in which children will be ready to learn new skills in Kindergarten. While ITAV’s whole child approach is unique to our school, it is also fully aligned to the NYS Pre-Kindergarten Foundations for Common Core.
